Now you’re cookin’ with Art
(i) In the kitchen and throughout the house,
the hand-carved cabinets were designed by Kristen and built by Evos, a group of
artisans in San Miguel, Mexico. Refrigerator, LG. Stove and microwave, GE.
Dishwasher, Bosch. Sink and faucet, Rohl. Countertop, Evos. Pendant lighting,
Restoration Hardware. (j) Mary Engelbreit’s original illustration, “Recipe
for Happiness,” occupies a place of honor next to the cookbooks.
Sand-washed
(k) Joe and Jack talk man-to-man.
(l) “The
laundry room used to have an ugly bi-fold door that kept
falling off track. I
replaced it with a curtain I can close to hide the
mess.” Washer/dryer,
Whirlpool.

Breakfast BLISS
(m) The Farrells welcome each morning in a sun-splashed breakfast
nook, right off the kitchen. The window seat hides more storage space. (n) A corner
hutch holds vintage sand pails and other knickknacks. “I started collecting them
for the kids’ rooms when I was pregnant with Tess, but I liked them so much,
they’re all over the house.”
Beachy Keen
(o) Shelves near the front
door display beach bounty
and a reproduction license plate frame. (p) Jack
and Tess lollygag
in the shade.
