Put all of your Easter eggs into these jauntily embellished buckets!
How To Make It
EGGS
1. Paint egg with two coats
of acrylic paint. Let dry. 2. Choose a contrasting color and paint polka dots over base
color. Let dry. 3. Brush a thin, even layer of découpage glue onto egg. Hold egg
over paper plate and shake glitter onto egg, turning egg to cover evenly.
BUCKETS
1. In
well-ventilated area, spray paint bucket interior, handle, and rim. Let dry.
2. Lay
bucket on its side and roll halfway around on piece of card stock, tracing line
along top and bottom edge of bucket as you go. 3. Cut out and check size
by holding pattern up against bucket, trimming if necessary so that top and
bottom edges of pattern fit just inside rims. 4. Trace around pattern on
wrong side of decorative paper to make two pieces. 5. Use a damp brush to
apply a thin layer of découpage glue to outside of bucket, covering
completely. 6. Apply one piece of decorative paper to bucket, using fingers
and brush to smooth out air bubbles. 7. Apply another coat of
découpage glue to the top of the paper, again smoothing out
bubbles. 8.
Repeat on opposite side of bucket. Let dry. 9. Apply another thin layer
of découpage glue to entire exterior surface of bucket. Holding bucket over
newspaper, lightly shake glitter onto wet surface. Let dry. 10. Fill bucket with
eggs.
After Easter, use the buckets to hold spring flowers, garden tools, or fruits and veggies.
Stumble It!
