artwork, color copy it for projects like the dress (a). Favorite
scraps of fabric (c) come together in a cushion, embroidered freehand with a cute
message. Peeking through the surface of an old mirror, a collage takes on a
mysterious 3-D quality.

(d) Curtains are a montage of fabrics, with
seams deliberately left raw. (e) Seat pads sewn from grain bags jazz up twin
chairs. Enhance them with odd strips of fabric and painted details for a modern
update on grandma-style quilting and appliqué. The cool

in a patchwork of fabrics. Use any fun cloth, such as a monogrammed dinner
