the envelope please
(h) Hand-decorated by Red Lead PaperWorks with stamps, buttons, and ribbons, each of the numbered cards in this Advent calendar is a gift in itself. Tuck in surprises like movie tickets and “coupons” for hot chocolate.

sew a pocket full of wishes
(i) You’ll need three felt placemats (two should be the same color), embroidery floss, and accent ribbon. Cut slit in right-hand quadrant of top mat. Enlarge slightly in an oval shape (so that the felt underneath shows). Cut one of the remaining mats in half and pin behind top placemat. Hand-stitch to size of pocket desired. Turn over and cut excess felt. Slipstitch or glue ribbon to bottom edge of slit. With wrong sides together, hand-stitch around perimeter of third placemat, leaving 6 to 8 inches for stuffing or to insert pillow. Complete hand-stitching. Blanket, Ratzer of Denmark.

lolling in lavender
(j) Leave the tinsel and glitz behind. A serene bedroom for a favorite guest soothes with shades of blue and lavender and the gentle presence of birds. Felt throw and pillows, Mogwaii Design. Packages, tags, journal, French General. Drapery hardware, Kirsch. Bowls on shelf, Jeremie Corp.
