A LITTLE TURKEY TALK
Antique dealer friends have helped Enid build a trove of holiday collectibles for more than 20 years. “They tell me these precious turkeys are few and far between and highly sought after,” she says. Still, she has amassed about 100 of the rare, hand-painted birds, with most obtained from dealers who shop in Europe or through high-end specialty auctions. Enid is always interested in adding to her collection. You can reach her at P.O. Box 221212, Carmel, CA 93922.

SMALL PACKAGES
(e) The trio of turkeys, shows some of the whimsical variations in Enid’s collection. These little containers are far sweeter than the candy that originally came inside. They range in size from about 31⁄2 to 5 inches high. (f) Instead of candy, this favor holds six tiny, 1-inch blocks that can be arranged in different farmyard scenes. It’s made of cardboard, not papier-mâché, but Enid treasures it all the same because of its “incredible lithography.”

IN THE DETAILS
(g) This chubby tom, stands on lead feet, as do most of Enid’s turkeys. (h) The 3-inch container, is topped with three finely detailed birds.
