Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion Marks 10th Anniversary
January 12, 2007 (NORWALK, CT) -
Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion magazine celebrates its
10th anniversary of publication in 2007. Home
Companion, published by Belvoir Media Group,
is the only magazine tied to a working artist, Mary Engelbreit, and an art-based
brand. “A decade ago we were
inspired by two ideas when we started Home Companion that continue to guide us today:
that artists raise the quality of each day to the level of art, and that all of
us are artists,” said Ms. Engelbreit.
To mark the 10th
anniversary, Home Companion is refreshing its already unique
editorial approach. With the February/March 2007 issue, the magazine is renewing
its emphasis on handmade, unique styles, homeowners’ love of art and the impact
it has on their homes. The
magazine’s on-going strong focus on the creative arts now features even more
editorial coverage of artists and creative projects. New departments
include: “Next” – up and coming artists with a
fresh point of view. “The Art of
Business” –
interviews with art-based entrepreneurs…sharing experiences and
advice. “Pins &
Needles” – quick,
colorful needlecraft projects. “Noteworthy” – the latest in paper goods,
focusing on seasonal themes. “Top Stitch”
–
recognizing
creative artists who express their vision in the fabric arts, primarily
quilts.
Every issue will continue to feature
a new paper doll and a piece of Mary Engelbreit’s artwork, both of which have
been reader favorites since the beginning.
To help kick-off the 10th
anniversary year and show thanks to Home Companion’s readers, founder and editor in
chief Mary Engelbreit will be in California in conjunction with the annual
Crafts & Hobby Association Winter Show signing copies of the February/March
anniversary issue at the Huntington Beach, California Barnes & Noble on
Sunday, January 28, 2007 at 2:00 pm. “Knowing that Home
Companion’s readers have received and
appreciated our message for the past 10 years means the world to us,” continued
Ms. Engelbreit.

Companion
