Perfecting Your Poolside Paradise
Here are some great pointers for perfecting your poolside paradise and bringing all the comforts of indoors, outdoors.

Tips
ONE: Paint a rug design on the patio or use natural fiber matting. Let benches, crates, and potting benches fill in for furniture.
TWO: Take a “whole-yard” approach. Grow things that you can use for cooking nearby, such as aromatic herbs and vegetables.
THREE: Consider built-in grills or an under the counter refrigerator. You’ll need counter space for food prep, as well as storage for cutlery and dishes.
FOUR: Around the pool, add plants that really take a trampling, such as Bermuda grass, a favorite of golf courses. Or go with a sturdy succulent like the one known as hens and chicks.
FIVE: Set up an outdoor “room” just for summer, using a bedspread and a beach or garden canopy frame. Treat the fabric with Scotchguard or choose a waterproof canvas fabric.
