This project is the perfect way for your little ones/grandchildren to keep track
of the days until Santa visits! Simply remove a magnet from each day and add it
to the tree-when the final ornament is added then they know that Santa will
visit that evening!
This Special Holiday project is brought to you by our friends at Doodlebug.
Instructions:
1. Remove backer board and glass from frame. 2. Using spray adhesive per
manufacturers instructions—glue sheet metal to backer board. (a) 3. Trim one sheet of dot paper to 10" x 12", lay cut sheet over the top
of the uncut sheet enough to align dot pattern perfectly, adhere with double
stick tape and trim so the combined sheets measure 10" x 20". (b)
4. Use spray adhesive to adhere dot paper to metal. 5. Place
background in frame. 6. Pencil a grid of 1 1/2" squares—6 squares wide by 4
squares high onto white cardstock. 7. Carefully sew over pencil marks with
black thread. Erase any pencil marks that show and trim edges to be about 1/8".
(c)
8. Rub on numbers in count down order beginning with
#24 in the upper left corner and ending with 1 in the lower right corner. 9.
Adhere calendar approximately 1/4" from sides and bottom using double stick
tape. 10. Using template-cut tree and trunk from glitter cardstock and
adhere to background using double stick tape. (d)
11. Hot
glue 24 buttons to magnets. 12. Adhere jewels & smaller buttons to base
buttons as desired. 13. Apply a thin coat of finger nail polish to the
magnets to keep scuff marks from appearing on white calendar. 14. Adhere
yellow jewel in the center of a star button and glue to the tree top. 15.
Adhere lime green scalloped Paper frills to the frame using the roll from the
assortment for the lengths of the frame and the strips from the Limeade package
for the top and bottom.
